Ever Wonder Why Circuit Boards Are Green?

Video-Ever Wonder Why Circuit Boards Are Green?

The reasons have nothing to do with the environment or with St. Patrick’s Day.

For years, the electronics industry has used green printed circuit boards.

Nowadays, more electronics boards, such as motherboards, use other colors.

However, green remains the color of choice for circuit boards.

According to this brief video from Techquickie, the reasons are numerous, but they have nothing to do with environmental sustainability, which nowadays is a hot-button topic.

Some of the actual reasons relate to aesthetics, such as technicians being able to more easily view the board and what’s on it.

Another important reason is that green boards are just easier to manufacture.
