OpenAI says its “mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity.” It defines AGI as “highly autonomous systems that outperform humans at most economically valuable work.” The company is working to overcome concerns about any perceived “biased, offensive, or otherwise objectionable” outputs. So it says that “improving [its] methods for aligning AI systems with human values is a top priority for [the] company, particularly as AI systems become more capable.”
